Lura Fern (Boggs) King was born May 6, 1911 at Conesville, Iowa the daughter of John & Emma (Hintz) Boggs.

She married Donald J. King March 2, 1946 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death on November 13, 1996. She was a 1930 graduate of Oelwein High School and was a member of the Royal Neighbors, the St. Patrick Rosary Society, and the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 Auxiliary. Lura died Thursday, October 30, 2003 at Bartel’s Lutheran Home, Waverly, Iowa at the age of 92 years.

Survivors include one son, Michael (Ver Jean) King of Janesville, Iowa and her daughter-in-law, Jan King of Cedar Falls.

Lura was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, James P. King, two brothers, Thomas & Glen Boggs, and two sisters, Dora Carlson and Nira Haire.

A Funeral Mass was held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2003 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial at Greenwood Cemetery.

A memorial fund will be established.
