Funeral Services for Mrs. Lester, 91, of 132 Linwood Avenue who died Friday, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns Garden Chapel with Rev. M. Lloyd Dutro, pastor of Graves Memorial United Brethren Church in charge. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Lester Will Observe Birthday at Dinner Event

An event today at the home of Mrs. William Lester on Martin Road will be the party celebrating her eighty-eighth birthday anniversary which was Saturday. About 40 persons will attend the event, a potluck dinner at noon, and they will be her children and their families.

One of 13 children, Mrs. Lester moved to Black Hawk County from Oneida, Illinois, with Mrs. W. Lester, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Friedley, when she was five years old. She has made her home in Waterloo for the past 50 years. Mr. Lester died in December, 1919.

Very active, Mrs. Lester does her own housework and during this past year has been piecing fancy quilts by hand. Today she will present one quilt to each of her five daughters: Mrs. Ollie Triplett of Fredericksburg, Mrs. Dan Germann, Mrs. Theola Tabor, Mrs. Lucy Huskins and Mrs. Marie Tewalt, all of Waterloo. There is one son, Theodore Wilson Lester, with whom Mrs. Lester makes her home.

Mrs. Lester has 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
