Glenn A. Van Hauen was born May 28, 1919, at Grundy Center, Iowa, the son of John G. and Minnie Pedersen (Van Hauen).

He married A. Viola Taylor, February 8, 1940 at Canton, South Dakota. Glenn owned and operated a D-X tank wagon service for over 40 years. He was also a farmer in Black Hawk County. During World War II he served in the United States Navy.

Glenn died Saturday, January 8, 2005, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, Cedar Falls, Iowa, at the age of 85 years.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Viola, of Cedar Falls; three sons: Mark (Joan) Van Hauen of Clive, Iowa, John G. (Vicki) Van Hauen of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Scott (Lynda) Van Hauen of Janesville, Iowa; two daughters, Barbara (Marvin) Frey of Cherokee, Iowa and Glenda Husome of Cedar Falls, Iowa; twenty grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren and one sister, Marie J. Robinson of Lakeland, Florida.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, one grand daughter, Nancy Van Hauen and one sister, Gail Swanson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at the United Church of Christ in Cedar Falls, Iowa and burial will be at Cedar Valley Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
