Funeral services for William J. Craig, 79, of 519 Dawson St, who was dead on arrival at St. Francis Hospital at 11:40 p.m. Thursday of a stroke, will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev. Joseph F. Griffin, pastor will officiate.

Rosary services will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Oppold Funeral home.

Mr. Craig was born December 28, 1892, near Albia, the son of William and Catherine Powell Craig. He married Mary Murray September 12, 1916. She preceded him in death in December 1918. He then married Beulah Green February 13, 1923, in Pueblo, Colorado.

Mr. Craig was employed at the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 33 years retiring in 1969. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, and United Auto Workers Local 838.

Surviving are his wife; eight sons: Eugene of Des Moines, Richard of Cleveland, Ohio, Thomas of 2235 E 4th St, Rodger of 219 State St., James of Muscatine, Robert of 97 Joy Drive, Edward of 530 East Dale St and Patrick of 3524 Woodridge, Cedar Falls; six daughters: Mrs. Robert Schlorff of 1734 W. 11th St, Mrs. Lehan Gaffney of Summer, Mrs. Dean Cashman and Mrs. Steven Jensen, both of Des Moines, Mrs. Russell Seidler of 3674 Logan Ave and Mrs. Garth Rathjen of Mason City; one brother, James E. Craig of Monmouth, Illinois; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Shehan, Mrs. William Bagley and Miss Anna Craig all of Albia and Mrs. James Clark of 710 Hanna Blvd; 42 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one daughter, one grandchild,: and one great-grandchild, seven brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at funeral home after 3 p.m. Saturday. The family requests memorials be made to St. Mary's Church Fund.
