CEDAR FALLS — Ronald Charles Dawson, 67, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born July 4, 1945, in Waterloo, son of Charles and Jennie Chamberlain Dawson.

He graduated from East High. Mr. Dawson worked as a police officer in Waterloo and Denver. He also worked as a corrections officer with the Waterloo Work Release Center.

Survived by two daughters, Nicole Vance of Iowa City and Teresa Hinchey of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Shaun of Zapata, Texas, and Ronald Jr. of West Virginia; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gary.

Services: will be held at a later date. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, An Overton Family Service, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.
