WATERLOO — Harlan Richard Boysen, 99, of Waterloo, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the Rose Retirement Community, Waterloo

He was born May 15, 1913, in Dike, son of Herbert and Edna Cook Boysen. He married Norma Fossler Potts on July 27, 1993, in Wabasha, Minn.

He graduated from Dike High School. In his early years, he worked for John Deere and Rath Packing. Later, he was self-employed and retired from Clay Equipment. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Survived by his wife; four daughters: Norma Peters of Cedar Falls, Mary (Larry) Coffee of New Hartford, Linda McIntyre of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Nancy Fisher of Parkersburg; three sons: Philip (Phyllis) of Boise, Idaho, Robert (Sue) of Olathe, Kan., and Curtis of Elk River, Minn.; three sisters: Melba Merrell and Doris Blake, both of San Diego, and JoAnn (Roger) Hansen of Hampton; a brother, James (Margaret) of San Diego; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Bradley; a daughter, Susan Boysen; two brothers, Dale Herbert and George; and a sister, Vera Scroggy.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Waterloo, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, An Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
