WATERLOO — Roger Lee Winders, 73, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born June 22, 1939, in Algona, son of Vernon and Margaret Dohlmann Winders. He married Hope Janet Frost on May 18, 1957, in Mason City.

Mr. Winders was employed by John Deere and Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1996.

Survived by his wife; a son, Randall Lee of Waterloo; three daughters: Kristine Rooff of Independence, Mo., Amy L. Winders of Vinton and Janet Lee (Todd) Millermon of Waterloo; a brother, William of Phoenix; three sisters: Ramona Hoveland of Des Moines, Gerri Gaffney of Temple, Texas, and Gloria Bear of Newport, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Hank and James; a sister, Lillian Alex; and a grandson.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and also for an hour before services Monday at the church.
