Pernicious anemia claimed Neil W. Pedersen, an extra conductor on the Illinois Central, at 10:20 p.m. Saturday. He had been unable to work his run with the exception of six weeks for more than a year and during the last 12 weeks had been bedridden.
He was born July 24, 1877, at Cascade, Ia., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Pedersen. Feb. 14, 1900, he was married to Miss Charlotte Boyd and two years later they moved from Cascade to Waterloo.
Mr. Pedersen was a member of Waterloo lodge, No. 328, Loyal Order of Moose, and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. He held membership in Walnut Street Baptist Church also. Services will be at the residence, 524 Cottage Street, Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.. In charge of Rev. J.W. Beatty, Cedar Rapids, a friend of the family and the minister who read the marriage service for Mr. and Mrs. Pedersen. Interment will be in Fairview.
Surviving Mr. Pedersen are the widow, son, Ivan, his mother, two brothers, Peter, Cascade, Ia., James, LeSueur, Minn., and sister, Miss Frances, Dubuque.
