From FAG Contributor Chuck:
According to the 1925 Iowa census for Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Dorothea's parents were John C. and Johannah (Schuman) Barringer. It was spelled that way twice, once for her father's name and once for Dorothea's maiden name on her daughter's line.

Also, she became a naturalized US citizen on September 25, 1914, by order of the US District Court of Black Hawk County, Waterloo, Iowa.
