WATERLOO — Shawn Edward Doyle, 22, 2013, of Waterloo, formerly of Parkersburg, died at home Sunday, Jan. 13.

He was born Aug. 20, 1990, in Waterloo, son of John “Jack” and Cindy Anderson Doyle.

Mr. Doyle graduated from Aplington-Parkersburg High School in 2009, and continued his education at Hawkeye Community College, studying police science. He was currently employed at GMAC, where he worked as a loan specialist in the home mortgage department.

Survived by his mother of Waterloo; his father of Parkersburg; a sister, Angie (Michael) Doyle-Scar of Des Moines; two brothers, Mickey (Jenn) of Kansas City, Mo., and Nick of Cedar Falls; and maternal grandfather, Clifford Anderson of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Earl and Kay McClatchey; and maternal grandmother, Irene Anderson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

The newspaper also said he was killed in a gun accident - Authorities said it appears Doyle was cleaning a gun when it discharged.
