WATERLOO — Mary Magdalene Tyler, 75, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Allen Hospital.

She was born Jan. 16, 1937, in Ames, daughter of Arnulfo and Luz Mary Terrones Martinez. She married Carl Gregory Tyler Jr. on Dec. 17, 1960, in Preston, Minn. He died Sept. 20, 2000.

Mrs. Tyler was employed at Rath Packing Co. and the Waterloo School System as a crossing guard.

Survived by four sons: Carl (Sue) III of Evansdale, Lawrence (Annette) and Joseph, both of Waterloo, and Gregory (Monica) of Bricelyn, Minn.; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; two brothers, Joseph Blanch of Elk Run Heights and Doroteo Martinez of Waterloo; and two sisters, Gloria (Warren) Woods of Hudson and Anita (Richard) Schmit of Elk Run Heights.

Preceded in death by a brother, Jamie Blanch; and an infant sister.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 4 p.m. Legion of Mary rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.
