Dean Primrose was born December 12, 1940 at Webster City, Iowa the son of Bill and Vivian (Peters) Primrose.

He married Beth McKee September 6, 1961 at Webster City. Dean received both his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Northern Iowa. He received Emeritus status with the College of Education at UNI having taught at Northern University High School from 1973 until 2002. Dean was past president of the Cedar Falls Rough Risers Kiwanis Club in 1986-1987 and was also on the steering committee of Teacher Education Convocation at UNI.

He died Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota at the age of 62 years.

Survivors include his wife, Beth of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Peggy (Clark) Taylor of Plymouth, Minnesota and Polly (Brad) Jacobson of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Lauren Taylor and Sawyer Jacobson; and two sisters, Claudia (Arlo) Van Diest of Webster City and Pat (George) Mesik of Blue Springs, Missouri.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services were 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2002 at the United Church of Christ in Cedar Falls. A private family inurnment was at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Mayo Foundation (for Multiple Myeloma research), the church, or the Gift of Life Transplant House in Rochester, Minnesota.
