Margaret Viola French, 77, of the Americana Healthcare Center, formerly of 1126 Tiffany Place, Apt. 7, died at the care center Friday, Oct. 16, 1992, of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 18, 1915, in McIntire, daugther of Merrill A. and Lula Beal Shupe. She married William Charles French on June 17, 1934, in Riceville. He died April 1, 1979.

Mrs. French was past president of Women's UAW local 838.

Survivors include two sons, Arlan R. and Rickie M., both of Waterloo; a daughter, Cheryl R. O'Connor of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Pell of Osage.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to Cedar Valley Hospice or Immanuel Baptist Church.
