WATERLOO — Vera A. Schultz, 75, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Jan. 5, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly.

She was born June 21, 1937, in Postville, daughter of Alpha and Vera Meyer Hangartner. She married Harlan W. Schultz Jr. on Nov. 26, 1955, in Clermont. He died Aug. 23, 1997.

Mrs. Schultz graduated from Clermont High School in 1955, received her licensed practical nurse degree from Hawkeye Community College in 1981, and a bachelor’s degree in human services from Upper Iowa University in 1994. She was employed as an LPN for Newell Post and Adults Inc. and later worked at Target.

Survived by four sons: Matt (Deborah) and Tim (Susie), both of Waterloo, Anthony (Susan) of Wellsburg and Travis (Erica) of Prescott, Ariz.; two daughters, Barbara (Chris) McCulley of Hudson and Tarrah (Tyler) Steen of Cedar Falls; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Glenice Thompson of Postville and Paula Ege of Hawkeye.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Bridget Schultz; and infant son, Mark; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Darla Andersen.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, with burial in St. Francis Barclay Cemetery, Dunkerton. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
