CEDAR FALLS — Floris M. Waller, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

She was born April 13, 1923, in Cedar Township, Sac City, daughter of Gilbert W. and Helen C. Swanson Peters. She married Dean B. Waller on June 7, 1942, in Sac City. He died Nov. 16, 1993.

Mrs. Waller graduated from Sac City High School in 1940 and earned her teaching certificate from Buena Vista College in 1943. In 1965 she earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Iowa. She taught in small schools in western Iowa, and after moving to Cedar Falls, she taught in several area schools, then at Valley Park Elementary from 1961 to 1981, when she retired. She also taught piano and organ.

Survived by two sons, Scott (Mary) of Bloomington, Minn., and Perry (Deborah) of Ramsey, Minn.; a daughter, Joleen (Neal) Siebert of Wellsburg; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Hartsell and Beatrice Minneman; and a grandchild.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, with inurnment in Oakland Cemetery, Sac City. Richardson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
