MURRAY, TAYLOR, ZERKLE, BRINKMAN

James H. Murray, 72, of 918 Mitchell St., died at Veterans Hospital, Iowa City, Monday morning of carcinoma.

He was born Apr. 29, 1892, at Waterloo, the son of Cyris and Margaret Taylor Murray. He lived in Waterloo all his life and was a self-employed carpenter. He served in the Army in World War I in France and was a member of the Methodist Church, the Veterans of World War I Barracks No. 1276 and the DAV.

Survivors include four brothers, B.F. Murray of Greeley, Colo.; J. W. Murray of Eagle Bend, Minn.; E.N. Murray of Janesville, and G.W. Murray of 2841 Lafayette St.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mae Zerkle of 227 Reed St. and Mrs. Iona Brinkman of 122 E. 8th St.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Services will be at the Chapel of Memories at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. James W. Fouke, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories cemetery. Military services will be conducted by World War I Barracks No. 1276. Friends may call after noon on Tuesday.
