Ron Stahlhut, 54, of Bettendorf, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at his home after a brief illness. There will be a celebration service to honor Ron’s life at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, 53rd St., Moline, Ill., with visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport.

Ron was born July 29, 1958 in Waterloo, son of Irvin and Florence Hay Stahlhut. He married Lynelle Van Hove-Ness on March 2, 1996, in Cedar Falls.

Ron graduated from Wapsie Valley High School in 1976. He received his undergraduate and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering from Iowa State University, Ames. He had a long standing career of 30+ years with Deere & Co., Moline, Ill. He was multi-talented and worked in many areas of the Company including plants in Waterloo, Springfield, Ill., and the Tech Center and Corporate Headquarters in Moline, Ill.

Ron was a visionary with keen insight and brought forth many patents in the United States and Europe and received numerous innovative and collaboration awards from Deere & Co. He was also named Co-Senior Engineer of the Year by the Quad City Engineering Science Council in 2009. He was a hard working man of integrity and honor. If there was a task to be done, Ron would set his mind to complete it so that the best solution would come forth. He was very humble in heart and took no identity in his accomplishments or awards but always said it was the goodness and grace of the Lord that allowed him to accomplish those things. He loved his wife, children, family and friends, his kindness touched many lives. He felt blessed of the Lord and loved to see others blessed with the goodness of the Lord. In memory of Ron’s desire to bless others we ask that memorials be given to the ministry of the 180 Zone; www.the180zone.org for more information.
