[Waterloo Evening Courier, Saturday, August 24, 1918]

Mrs. Lucy Harden, age 80, a resident of Black Hawk county for 60 years, died today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. M.C. Perington*, 212 Seventh Street east. Arrangements for the funeral await the arrival of two sons at a distance, but it is believed the service will be Monday afternoon.

Surviving Mrs. Harden are three daughters, Mrs. Perington*, Mrs. Emma Updike, and Mrs. William Clause, Waterloo; two sons, Jesse E. Harden, Nora Springs, and George Harden, Arnold's Park, Ia.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Harden will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Walnut Street Baptist Church. Rev. J.B. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview.

A grandson, George M. Ferch, from the U.S. navy, Great Lakes training station, arrived today to attend the funeral.
