Services for Edward Jackson Wenner, 86, of 449 Martin Road, will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
Wenner Clark at the Christ Episcopal Church.

Mr. Wenner, a Waterloo attorney for 63 years died Monday at about 5 p.m. at the Parkview Nursing Home where he had been a resident for the past seven weeks.

Born July 3, 1880, on a farm near Vinton, to Christian Wenner Jr. and the former Margaret Cokely, he married Elizabeth Parrott Aug. 17, 1910 in Waterloo.

Mr. Wenner was a graduate ot the Tilford Academy at Vinton and in 1903 won a LLB degree from the State University of Iowa. In 1904 he was graduated from Yale University with a Master of Law degree and the same year began a law practice in Waterloo.

He was Black Hawk county attorney from 1915-21; and member of the Waterloo and Iowa Bar Association; and president of the Iowa Association of County Attorneys.

In 1930, Mr. Wenner was elected to a three-year term in the state legislature representing Black Hawk county.

He was a member of Waterloo Lodge No. 105 AM & FM; a member and first local governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose; a life member of the Knights of Pythias; a 50-year member of BPOE Lodge No. 290; president of the Fairview Cemetery Association and a member of the Salvation Army Advisory board. He was also a member and former vestryman of the Christ Episcopal Church in Waterloo.

Survivors include his widow, 449 Martin Road; two sons, Frank W., Davenport and Jackson C., 247 Prospect Blvd.; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wenner was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Edward in 1935, three brothers
and one sister.

Friends may call at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Tuesday. Friends wishing to donate memorials may send them to Christ Episcopal Chuuch.
