HUDSON — Beverly J. Holmes, 79, of Hudson, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 16, 1933, in Dike, daughter of Donal W. and Helen Ward Lotts. She married John Franck "Jack" Holmes on Oct. 23, 1954, in Cedar Falls.

She graduated from Cedar Falls High School. Mrs. Holmes worked at Rath Packing in the keypunch department, at American Soybean in the mailroom and then was a homemaker in her own home. She is a member of Community Church of Hudson.

Survived by her husband; a son, Randall of Hudson; a daughter, Linda (Leslie) Sergeant of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Steven Sergeant of Waterloo and Jennifer (Jeremy) Leeper of Grundy Center; a great-great-granddaughter, Katelin Leeper of Grundy Center; and a brother, Albert (Joan) Lotts of Dike.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Community Church of Hudson, preceded by family burial in Hudson Cemetery, Hudson. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
