WATERLOO - Robert James Ferguson, 83, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Black Hawk County, son of William and Josephine Jacobs Ferguson. He married Donna Thiele on May 21, 1960, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mr. Ferguson graduated from Waterloo East High School, then served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was employed at Rath Packing Co. until it closed in 1985.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Pam Johnson of Newton and Sue Ferguson of Waterloo; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Kathryn, Carole and Marjory.

Preceded in death by two sisters; and two brothers.

Private family services: will be held at a later date. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is assisting the family.
