WATERLOO — Roger D. Diehm, 65, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, from a stroke.

He was born April 28, 1947, in Marshalltown, son of Roger W. and Marlys Paustian Diehm. He married Mary Fulkerson, and they later divorced. He married Mary Heisler Buehne on Oct. 28, 1989, in Waterloo.

Mr. Diehm graduated from Reinbeck High School and Universal Trade School, Omaha, Neb., in 1966. He worked as a truck mechanic, service manager and sales adviser in many truck and auto dealerships throughout the Midwest and Waterloo area. He retired from Waterloo Service Co. in 2007.

Survived by his wife; a son, Joshua D. of Indianola; two daughters, Chris (Brian) Bunz of Reinbeck and Mindy (Vince) Smith of Glidden; four grandchildren, Corey, Cassidy and Caden Smith and Mitchell Bunz; three brothers, Dennis (Roxanne) of Marshalltown, Dan (Megan) of Palo and Don (Lori) of Reinbeck; and a sister, Denae (Dale) Haack of Gladbrook.

Preceded in death by his parents; a son, Matthew D.; a stepdaughter, Staci Buehne; and a sister, Diane Kay Diehm in infancy.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
