CEDAR FALLS — Cecile J. Hoepfner, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

She was born April 26, 1926, in Sioux City, daughter of Lawrence Elmer and Mary Louise Beymer Craig. She married Duane E. Hoepfner on Jan. 1, 1948, in Cedar Falls. He died Aug. 27, 2004.

Mrs. Hoepfner was an elementary instrumental educator for the Waterloo Community Schools for 24 years. She also was past auxiliary commander of the American Legion Post, Cedar Falls.

Survived by a nephew, David (Jacque) Craig of Waterloo; and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; and a granddaughter, Jill Hoepfner of Texas.

Preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Craig.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.
