CEDAR FALLS — Wayne Charles Miller, 97, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 6, 1915, in Bristow, son of Earl and Eula DeArmon Miller. He married Dorothy Austin on July 6, 1940, in Waverly. She died June 19, 2005.

Mr. Miller attended school in Dumont, then started working in the field of carpentry. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1953 he started Wayne Miller Construction in Cedar Falls, which he continued until 1977, then primarily worked part time with his carpentry.

Survived by two sons, Richard (Shirley) of Taylor, Wis., and Gary (Marlene) of Shell Rock; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Cecil, Max and Donald; and three sisters, Phyllis Armstrong, Kathy Hammond and Charlotte Maifield.

Preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church, Cedar Falls, where visitation begins at 9:30 a.m., with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Shell Rock. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to youth ministry at the Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church.
