Betty L. Bargo, 79, of Leawood, Kan., passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

She was born March 3, 1933, in Woodway, Va.

Betty was an educator and counselor for the Waterloo School District for 26 years and then for the Kansas City School District in Missouri for 15 years. While in Iowa she also taught classes at the University of Northern Iowa. Her passion was for working with children to elevate their lives through higher goals and education. She was a loving friend, mother and grandmother, who will be missed by her family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Thomas.

She is survived by her sister, Jean Brown; son Donald and his wife Lisa Bargo; daughter-in-law Sharee Bargo; and grandson Joseph and his wife Kathy Bargo.
