Ruby Wilmoth Savereide, born July 24, 1921, to James and Georgia Woods of Mexico, Mo., passed away Dec. 8, 2012.

Mrs. Savereide married Robert L. Savereide of Waterloo on Dec. 26, 1941. They met in Mexico, Mo., while Robert was a cadet at Missouri Military Academy.

She and her husband operated the Avon Theater in Dysart, before moving to Waterloo. Ruby worked at Allen Memorial Hospital and Construction Machinery Co. in Waterloo as an executive secretary.

Bob and “Willie” resided mostly in Waterloo and Cedar Falls while raising their family. Willie was so happy when her children and grandchildren would visit. Her little Maltese “Christy” was a very special addition to her life.

This past year, Bob and Willie moved to the Veteran’s Home in Marshalltown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her two brothers, Vernon Woods and Raymond Woods of Mexico, Mo.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; her children, Dr. Robert Savereide (Sue Ellen) of Cedar Falls and Susan Gubuan (Ramon) of Urbandale; grandson Andrew Wheeler of Macon, Ga., and great-grandchildren Stephen and Matthew; grandson James Savereide (Kerry) of Fairbanks, Alaska, and great-grandchildren Zackary and Dylan; granddaughter Megann Tresemer (Jason) of Cedar Falls and great-grandchildren Owen and Norah; granddaughter Dawn Russell of Waterloo and great-grandchildren Tyson, Taylor and Trystin; a sister-in-law, Maxine Woods; and nieces Linda Heydt of Mexico, Mo., and Sandra Hafner (Jim) of Sperry.

Private family services will occur Thursday. Memorials may be directed to Sartori Healthcare Foundation. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.
