WATERLOO — Katherine “Kay” A. Moore, 94, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Waterloo, daughter of Patrick John and Blanche Annah Steinke Mulcay. She married Elmo R. Moore on April 25, 1946, at First Presbyterian Church, Waterloo. He died Nov. 8, 1992.

Mrs. Moore graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1937 and attended Gates Business College and Iowa State Teachers College. She worked as a conservator for the state of Iowa. She was a Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League, and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi.

Survived by a son, Patrick R. (Mary Ann) of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Regan (Tom) McCarthy of Eldridge and Mason (Sara) Moore of Waterloo; and three great-grandchildren, Thomas and Jack McCarthy, and Avery Moore.

Preceded in death by a son, Elmo Jr.; and two sisters, Mary Pat Pitzel and Betty Mulcay.

Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at Locke Funeral Home, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to charity of donor’s choice.
