Aunt Betty Weber, 83, of Waterloo died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Allen Hospital after completing a beautiful life. Her life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, at St. Edward Catholic Church, with entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 3 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary and a 7 p.m vigil. Visitation will continue for one hour before services at the church on Monday.

Betty M. Weber was born on May 4, 1923 in Gilbertville, IA the 9th of ten children of Frank and Elizabeth (Nisius) Weber.

In 1933 Betty and her family moved to a farm in the Eagle Center area and she graduated from St. Mary of Mt Carmel School in 1941. Betty and her parents moved to Waterloo and she began her career in 1942 at the downtown Woolworths Store where she started working on displays to begin with making $12.00 for a 48 hour week. She later became the bookkeeper and worked there for 46 years with the last seven as auditor traveling states from Chicago IL to Denver CO.

Betty encouraged the personal growth of her many nieces and nephews by her excellent work ethic integrity and loyalty as she rose through the ranks of the Woolworth Corp. As a result of her career Betty was recognized as the Lady from Woolworths where ever she went. Betty was a charter member of the St. Edward Catholic Church.

Following her retirement Betty continued giving of her time and talents to volunteering for many years at countless positions at St. Edward Church and Covenant Medical Center. Betty was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for over 60 years. She enjoyed traveling playing cards shopping and church activities but most of all her greatest joy was her family! Aunt Betty has always been everyones FAVORITE Aunt.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Vincent Weber Family, Jeanne Harper Family, Megan Dahlhauser Family, Jack Curran Family, Larry Curran Family, Carolyn Carlson Family, Thomas Vogel Family, Bernard Weber, Mary Ann Olinger Family, Kathy Smith Family, William Bovy Family, Patricia Caya Family, Michael Bovy Family, Richard Bovy Family, James Bovy Family, Joyce Griesbach Family, Janice Schultz Family, John Weber Family, Linda Maury Family, Carol Pope Family, Susan Westfall Family, Sandra Pardun Family, Stephen Gearhart Family, Betty Gearhart and Thomas Gearhart Family; and a special friend Arlene Schilling.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Weber; her brothers and spouses: Paul and Bernadette Weber, Bernard and Barbara Weber, John and Dorothy Weber, Robert Weber, and sisters and spouses: Lucille and Arthur Curran, Mary and William Vogel, Margaret and Raymond Bovy, Gertrude Gearhart, and Monica Weber; her nephews Howard Weber and Robert Weber; her nieces Mary Jane Huston and Sally Strottman.

All holidays birthdays and any event were made special by Aunt Betty bringing smiles and memories to each and every niece and nephew. Aunt Betty taught us how to give and how to love she was a spiritual mentor to all. Goodbye Aunt Betty you will always hold a very special place in all of our hearts.

Memorials can be made to St. Edward Catholic Church.
