Shirley M. Doubek, 74, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born August 20, 1932, in Waterloo, daughter of Antonio & Maria Gonzalez Garcia.

She married Eugene J. Gene Doubek on July 9, 1971 in Galena, Illinois. He died August 25 1993. Shirley was employed as a press operator at Waterloo Industries for 25 years until her retirement.

Survivors include two sisters, Rita Fairbanks of Waterloo Jesse Reed of Oskaloosa; seven nephews: Dale Hall of Waterloo, David (Vickie) Hall of Waterloo, Dean (Tammie) Fairbanks, of Buckingham Danny Fairbanks of Waterloo Barry Garcia of Des Moines Ronald (Charlotte) Garcia of New Hartford and John Garcia Jr. of Waterloo; four nieces: Tina Garcia of Waterloo, Debbie Garcia of Des Moines, Barbara (Rick) Noble of Jesup, and Angela (Mark) McGrane of Belle Plaine; four great nieces: Kerry (Rob) Reeves of Pleasant Hill, Tara (Jason) Frazee of Waterloo, Rachael Bergmann of Waterloo, and Terry Hall of Arizona; two great-nephews, Skyler Fairbanks of Buckingham and David F. VanDee of Waterloo also other great-nieces and nephews.

Preceded by two brothers, Carlos and John Garcia.

Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 5pm-8pm Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 7pm vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services at the church.
