WATERLOO — Lois V. Youngblut, 66, of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, of natural causes.

She was born April 30, 1946, in Clinton, daughter of Elmer and Esther Schember Stuedemann. She married Charles C. Youngblut on Oct. 17, 1970, in Waterloo, and they later divorced.

Ms. Youngblut graduated from DeWitt Central High School in 1964; received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1976 and later her master’s in school counseling in 1990. She was employed at Qwest Communications for 15 years. She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Adam) Gassman of Dysart and Joanna (Gary) O’Clair of Waterloo; five grandchildren: Lincoln and Isaac Gassman, Bethany Garrison and Lillian O’Clair; her mother of DeWitt five brothers, Darrell (Barb) Stuedemann of Omaha, Neb., Lowell (Juli) Stuedemann of Eldridge, Wayne (Nancy) Stuedemann of DeWitt, Glenn (Terry) Stuedemann of Wycoff, Minn., and Dave (Shelly) Cogswell of Dallas; four sisters: Karen Stuedemann of Sycamore, Ill., Sharon Knudson of DeWitt, Toni Tayloe of Davenport and Amy Long of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her father; a son, Jacob Youngblut, and his father, Charles Youngblut.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Special Olympics and River Hills School.
