WATERLOO — Richard L. Buenger, 63, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer

He was born June 30, 1949, in Sumner, son of Lester O. and Evelyn M. McKinney Buenger. On Nov. 4, 1972, he married Joyce deNeui in Waverly.

Mr. Buenger graduated from Tripoli High school in 1967 and graduated from Iowa State University in 1972. He was employed as a civil engineer for 40 years, the past 29 years for AECOM.

Survived by his wife; four sons: Brian (Kimberly) of Olathe, Kan., Michael (Susie) of Chippewa Falls, Wis., Blaine (April) of Norwalk and Matthew (Catie Jensen) of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; a brother, Logan (Karen Bradley) of Walker; and two sisters, Sharon (Craig) Holdiman of Waterloo and Linda (Dave) Brennan of West Des Moines.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Brenda Marie Buenger.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Frederika. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
