Ninette "Nan" L. Peters, 78, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at The Western Home Cedar Falls. She was born February 18, 1928 in Winterset, daughter of Emmett H. and Reba M. Ross Hart.

She graduated from Winterset High School in 1945. She married James Emmett Peters on April 17, 1949 at the Naval Air Station Alameda, CA. He died January 7 1975.

She was employed as a supervisor for Western Union in the bay area of California. After moving back to Iowa she began volunteering at St. Johns Catholic School around 1961 and later was secretary for the school for 25 years retiring in 1993. As a person who dedicated her life to others she began volunteering at Covenant Medical Center as a surgical hostess the American Red Cross and Peoples Community Health Clinic. She was involved with her parish going on mission trips to help the less fortunate and helping out wherever needed.

Survivors include three sons: Jim (Diane), Ron (Sherry), Dan (Sherry) Peters all of Waterloo; two daughters: Nancy (Tom) Koenigsfeld and Julie Metcalf both of Waterloo; 18 grandchildren: Jamie (Jenny) Peters, Christopher Peters, Danielle Peters, Jonathan (Jessica) Peters, Dominic (Meghan) Peters, Eric (Nealy) Peters, Brian Peters, Garret Peters, Jarod Peters, Danny Peters, Edward Peters, Aimee Peters, T.J. Koenigsfeld, Jerry Koenigsfeld, Lindsey Koenigsfeld, Andrea Metcalf, Adam Metcalf, and Scott Metcalf; three step-grandchildren: Angie (Mike) Wilkin, Michelle Phillips, and Jennifer (Wade) Ross; six great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one brother Harold (Josiane) Hart, of Raymond, CA, one sister, Beverly (Jesse) Perkins of Wetumpka, Alabama; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Shirley Hart and Barbara Henderson; one brother, Forrest (Genevieve) Hart.

A memorial fund will be established at a later date.
