WATERLOO — Nellie Mae Thompson, 93, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Friendship Village of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 16, 1919, in Raymond, daughter of Richard and Mabel Brown Stocks. She married Arthur B. Thompson on June 22, 1941, in Waterloo. He died March 22, 1986.

Mrs. Thompson worked for a short time at Rath Packing Co. in the sliced bacon department. She was a charter member of St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.

Survived by a son, Thomas A. (Justine) of Shawnee, Okla.; two daughters, Linda G. (Larry) Ohl of Cedar Falls and Diana R. (Ron) Bowers of Waterloo; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four sisters: Della Uhde of Alaska, Myrle Bjerke of Cedar Falls, Helen McElroy of Urbana and Tootie (Kenneth) Olson of Vinton.

Preceded in death by three brothers: Roy, Clem and Carl Stocks; and three sisters: Mabel Marvin, Dora Stocks, and Hazel Rose Stocks in infancy.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
