EVANSDALE - Scott A. Dix, 57, of Evansdale, died at home Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, of cancer.

He was born Dec. 8, 1954, in Waterloo, son of Fred E. Jr. and Marilyn Klatt Dix. He married Diane Fairbanks on Feb. 8, 1975, at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, Waterloo.

Mr. Dix attended Waterloo West High School. He worked at John Deere for 30 years, retiring in 2005 from the Northeast Site on the 8000 series tractor line.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Brice and Eric, both of Waterloo, and Nathan of Evansdale; a daughter, Ashley Dix of Evansdale; and three granddaughters, Meghan of Parkersburg and Lilly and Jaida, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Michael; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Josie Bauman Klatt; and paternal grandparents, Fred E. Sr. and Mildred Reed Dix

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, Waterloo. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo.
