DUNKERTON — Dorothy I. Ortner, 85, of Dunkerton, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House, Waterloo.

She was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Black Hawk County, daughter of Theodore S. and Anna Catherine Wagner Weber.

On Nov. 4, 1953, she married John Francis Ortner at St. Francis Catholic Church-Barclay, rural Dunkerton. Mrs. Ortner was a homemaker and was a member of St. Francis Church-Barclay.

Survived by her husband; four daughters: Sharon (Michael) Woodward of Marion, Monica Ortner of Waterloo, and Veronica (Michael) Eldridge and Rose (Norman “Buddy”) Scarborough, both of Dunkerton; two sons, Leo of Dunkerton and Jerome (Lynn) of Waterloo; her nephew whom she raised, LaVern (Jane) Weber of Raymond; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph (Helen) Weber of Raymond.

Preceded in death by two grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and Lloyd Weber; and two sisters, Florence Wirtz and Evelyn Reuter.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church-Barclay, rural Dunkerton. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 4 p.m. parish rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
