CEDAR FALLS — Maxine F. "Mickey" Beener, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Black Hawk County, daughter of Frank and Marie Vera Parsons Muller. She married Robert Beener on Aug. 20, 1943, in Hyannis Port, Mass. He died May 2, 1994.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1942. Mrs. Beener worked as a shop clerk at John Deere for over 26 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls. She had been an Elklette and a lecturing Elklette.

Survived by two sons, Michael (Chris) of Waterloo and Thomas of La Costa, Calif.; a daughter, Cheryle Anne Shook of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Christy Rain, Darcey Shook, Kerri (Tony) Pasquale and Alexandra Beener; six great-grandchildren, Ben, Chris and Anna Rain, Sean Redmond, Malia Burton and Braydon Pasquale.

Preceded in death by a brother, Donald Muller; and a sister, Thomasine Muller.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Memorials may be directed to the church or American Cancer Society.

She enjoyed playing 500, line dancing, walking, collecting angels and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
