CEDAR FALLS — Leo H. Walton, 78, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Nov. 2, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 17, 1934, in Waterloo, the son of William J. and Catherine M. Kaufman Walton. He married Marcie P. Beebe Dec. 5, 1953, in New Hampton. She preceded him in death April 21, 2007.

Mr. Walton graduated from Independence High School and from the University of Northern Iowa with a master’s degree in social studies. He taught social studies at Cedar Falls High School, retiring in 1991. He was a charter member of Rambling Wheels Motor Cycle Club.

Survived by a son, Brian (Laura) of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Cindy (Dean) Nicholson of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Amy (Boon) Stover of Buffalo, Bree Nicholson of Minneapolis, Kyle (Lenah) Walton of Wellsburg and Bryn Walton of Cedar Falls; three great-grandchildren, Briar Stover, Carsten Walton and Madeline Walton; and a sister, Mary Walton of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Roy; and a nephew, Mike Walton.

Services: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
