WATERLOO — John P. Campbell, 61, of Madrid, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Park Centre, Newton, after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 15, 1951, in Fort Dodge, to Paul and Virginia Campbell.

He graduated from Iowa State University, and worked for 3M Corp. in Ames for many years.

Survived by a daughter, Sarah Campbell, of Lowell, Ark.; two brothers, Phil (Nancy) of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Bill (Debbie) of Waterloo; two sisters, Patricia (Jim) Hennessey of Lansing, Mich., and Barb (Greg) Campbell-Buse of Waunakee, Wis.; four nephews, Paul Campbell, Samuel Campbell, Christopher Hennessey and Colin Campbell, and a niece, Catherine Campbell-Hennessey.

Preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Katherine Campbell.

Services The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.

John was an avid hunter and fisherman—a true lover of the great outdoors.
