WATERLOO - Joseph R. Harn, 65, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Allen Hospital.

He was born Aug. 16, 1947, in Waterloo, son of Joseph V. and Betty Azbill Harn. He married Margaret "Maggie" Geerts on Aug. 16, 1998, in Waterloo.

Mr. Harn served in the U.S. Navy and was employed with Benjamin X and Alpha Express.

Survived by his wife; four sons: Casey (Rhonda) of Westgate, Sean (Terri) of Fairbank, Darby of Waterloo and Aaron of Mississippi; a daughter, Kayleen (Adam) Inman of Waterloo; a stepdaughter, Carmen (Frank) Vaughn of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Rebecca Hagen, Kaitlyn, Carlye, Curran, Mason and Shea Harn and Lakoda and Eric Christensen; two brothers, Timothy (Sandy) of Fon du Lac, Wis., and Patrick (Emily) of Evansdale; and four sisters: Christine (Joe) Kruchek of Dunkerton, Linda Dullard of Gilbertville, Bernadette (Danny) Kral of Cedar Falls and Teresa Hockey of Readlyn.

Preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Margaret Harn; and two brothers-in-law, Tony Dullard and Ronald Hockey.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Full military rites will be conducted at the church by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. Legion of Mary rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Friday at the church.
