CEDAR FALLS - Patricia Ann Geiger, 84, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 24, 1928, in Waterloo, daughter of Walter and Florence Smith Sutherland. She married Calvin Jr. Geiger on Dec. 7, 1949.

She graduated from Cedar Falls High School, earned a two-year teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College and then graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1972 with a bachelor's degree. Mrs. Geiger taught in the Cedar Falls and Waterloo schools, retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Ansgar Lutheran Church.

Survived by her husband; three sons, Steve (Pat Enos) of East Lansing, Mich., Lynn (Carol) of Cedar Falls and Jon (Laurie) of Carbondale, Ill.; a daughter, Ann of Independence; eight grandchildren, Bekah Geiger, Abe Geiger (Anne-Lise Quach), Jessie Geiger, Shannon Chase (Bill), Tiffany Guetzlaff (Erik), Lindsay Elenz (Mike), Scott Geiger and Ben Geiger; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Repass.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pat and her husband lived most of their retired years in Texas until they returned to Cedar Falls in 2010.
