CEDAR FALLS — Velda E. LeMay, 84, of Springfield, Ill., formerly of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Home in Quincy, Ill.

She was born June 18, 1928, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Jens N. and Elna T. Christensen. She married Gordon Harr. He died in 1982. She married Melvin Eugene LeMay Nov. 23, 1985, in Springfield. He died in November 2009.

Mrs. LeMay was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Springfield.

Survived by two daughters, Pamela (Phil) Bellis of Quincy and Kristine Schulz of Topeka, Kan.; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren and Diana Tracy, Erin (Kevin) Bird; and Jared, Carson, Laurelann and Jocelyn Schulz; and a brother-in-law, Russell Cantine of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a brother, Howard Christensen; and three sisters, Virginia Sorenson, Margaret Cantine and Mabel Powell.

Services were held at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Quincy, Ill., with burial in Springfield.
