HUDSON — Richard Donald Mumm, 87, of Hudson, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born July 24, 1924, near Voorhies in Black Hawk County, son of Charles and Bertha Mastain Mumm. On June 21, 1958, he married Margaret Stewart at United Methodist Church, Hudson.

Mr. Mumm graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1942, then served in the U.S. Army. He farmed most of his adult life and when he retired became a woodworker. He was a member of United Methodist Church, Hudson.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Ronn (Debbie) of Hudson and Marty (Amy) of Clinton, Wis.; a daughter, Jan (Steve) Wical of Grundy Center; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, LaVonne Kerr, Marlys Keith and Charlene Bigley; and three brothers, John, Wilbur and Garry.

Preceded in death by a granddaughter; and three brothers, Leonard, Kenneth and Raymond.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Hudson, with visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. today at French Hand Funeral Home, Reinbeck, with a 5:45 p.m. Masonic service by Coin Lodge 394 of Reinbeck.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo, Coin Lodge 394 in Reinbeck or Hudson United Methodist Church.
