Bernice A. Bergmeier (1926-2005)

HUDSON — Bernice Alice Bergmeier, 78, of Hudson, died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of cancer.

She was born Nov. 29,1926, in Allison, daughter of Ralph and Ida Christopherson Dailey. She married Jack H. Bergmeier on Aug. 10, 1946, in Ottumwa. He died Dec. 2,1983.

She had owned and operated Bergmeier Sanitation for 38 years, retiring June 30,2004.

Survivors include a son, Don (Vada) Bergmeier of Hudson; two daughters, Bonnie (Henry) Reiners of Waterloo and Connie (Larry) Snyder of Hudson; two daughters-in-law, Diana Bergmeier of Cedar Falls and Sandy (Jeff) Bergmeier Rekers of Winthrop; 10 grandchildren, Laurie (Darrin) Smith, David Reiners, Jennifer (Richard) Frost, Candace Bergmeier, Chad (Nicole) Bergmeier, Chaun Bergmeier, Donna (Ben) Boyer, Steven Bergmeier, Jaime Snyder and Denise (Jason) Droste; 14 great-grandchildren, Dakota, Cheyanne and Sierra Smith, EmmaLea Molosky, Aricka Joe Frost, James and Lawrence Frost, Ashley, Lacey and Auguest Bergmeier, Dylan and Alexis Bergmeier, Nathaniel Boyer and Davon Snyder; and a sister, Mary Ann (Darwin) Simmons of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Dean and Kenneth Bergmeier; an infant daughter, Linda Sue; two brothers, Glenn Dailey and Robert in infancy; and two grandsons, Ryan and Gerald Bergmeier.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgevvay, Waterloo, with burial in Hudson Cemetery, Hudson. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
