Mrs. Annie* M. Ray, of Cedar Falls, mother of Mrs. Geo. W. Barnes, of this city, died at Cedar Falls on Thursday, the 17th inst., aged nearly 53 years.

She has resided in Cedar Falls for the past 20 years, having come with her husband to that place when it was but a small village.

She was a sister of S. A. Bishop, and leaves a son and two married daughters, Mrs. Barnes, of this city, and Mrs. C. W. Cameron, of Cedar Falls.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Cedar Falls, last Sabbath.

*NOTE: Cemetery records have her name as Amy Maria Ray, Born May 29, 1828 in Ohio, died Feb. 17, 1881.

NOTE: Burial was at Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls.

NOTE: Her husband was William Ray (1821-1901) and the unnamed son was Cyrus A. Ray. and he died in 1886. His obituary said Amy's maiden name was Bishop.

NOTE: Her tombstone shows her first name as "Amy."
