Ronald E. Norris, age 71, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center.

Ron was born June 14, 1941 in Waterloo, the son of Ralph and Elvira Miller Norris. He graduated from Waterloo West High School with the Class of 1960. Ron married Sharon K. Buehler on August 30, 1964 in Cedar Falls.

He worked for John Deere & Co. in Waterloo for 32½ years, retiring in March 1992. He was an avid bass fisherman and also enjoyed bowling and softball.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon of Waterloo; two daughters, Kelli Norris of Waterloo and Melissa Beebe (Ken Hanson) of Cedar Falls; and three grandchildren, Andy, Kimberli and MacKenzi.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger Norris.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2012 at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7 at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel and an hour prior to the services on Monday at the Church. The casket will be closed at all times.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, 1207 Kimball Avenue, Waterloo, Iowa 50702 or the family.
