Marian Faye Mixdorf was born on May 5, 1928, in Waterloo, the daughter of Ralph and Clarice (Hagen) Lewis. She died at the age of 84 on October 4, 2012 at Allen Memorial Hospital.

She grew up in Waterloo and graduated from East High in 1947.

On June 4, 1948, Marian was married to William Mixdorf in a double wedding with her sister, Carmen and her husband, Bob Davis on their parents' 22nd wedding anniversary.

Marian and Bill lived in Waterloo for 23 years and then moved to an acreage North of Hudson where they lived for 40 years. For the past year, Marian and Bill have made their home at Mallard Point in Cedar Falls.

Marian enjoyed embroidering, playing board games and puzzles, and playing the accordion. She loved music and had a vast album collection. Marian and Bill exhibited rabbits at numerous rabbit shows throughout the Midwest. Most of all, Marian loved caring for her six children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Patty.

Marian is survived by her Husband, Bill of Cedar Falls; six children: Richard (Kathy) Mixdorf of Waterloo, Pat Bitel of Evansdale, Dave (Rhonda) Mixdorf of South Sioux City, Nebraska, Brian (Esther) Mixdorf of Grundy Center, Brenda (Patrick) Wellner of Washburn and Eric (Sharon) Mixdorf of Denver; a sister, Carmen Davis of Janesville; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Marian will be dearly missed be all who knew her.
