Russell A. “Alan” Renner, 51 of Waterloo, died Tuesday at Allen Hospital.

He was born January 7, 1961 in Waterloo, son of Russell E and Lucy J. Vaden Renner. He married Lynette Franzen on September 1, 1990 in Denver, Iowa. They later divorced.

He graduated from Tripoli High School and North Iowa Area Community College, Mason City. He served four years in active service with the U.S. Navy and 12 years in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He was employed with Hydrite Company for 15 years. He also was a custodian in the Waterloo School System for many years.

Survivors include: two daughters, Allie Renner and Rylee Renner both of Independence; his mother of Waterloo; two sisters, Ruth Renner of Waterloo and Lou Ann (Jerry) Culver of Waterloo; two brothers, Edward (Diane) Renner of Lansing, Iowa and Jeffery (Deb) Renner of Denison, Iowa.

Preceded in death by his father; a brother Terry Renner.

Family conducted services: 2 p.m. Sunday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Waterloo.
