Lois Clute, 79, of Cedar Falls died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Lois was born January 27, 1933 in La Porte City, Iowa the daughter of William Irving and Lillian Frances Wright Bisbee. Lois was the youngest of nine children. She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1951.

Lois married Richard J. Clute on August 15, 1956 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Waterloo. He died December 14, 1995. Lois worked in the business office at Rath Packing Company; later she and Dick owned and operated Highland Grocery.

Lois was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. She loved to travel including trips abroad including to England to visit relatives. She also enjoyed traveling domestically and would visit South Padre Island in the winters. Lois was very soft spoken but adventuresome. She was an avid antique collector, and she loved dogs.

Lois is survived by a daughter Tannis Petersburg and her husband Kevin of Ankeny; 3 grandsons: Ben and his wife Nola of Saipan, Nathan of Marion and Jon of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by a large extended family.

Lois is preceded in death by a daughter Beth Anne Clute, a son in infancy and 8 brothers and sisters.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church 2410 Melrose Drive, Cedar Falls. Visitation 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at Locke Funeral Home. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa
