Cindy Kay Carson was born October 16, 1946, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of George and Helen (Hopper) McLaughlin. She passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics [Aug 2] due to an injury at the age of 65.

She graduated from Waterloo West High School with the class of 1964. Cindy was united in marriage to Virgil Carson on October 30, 1979; he preceded her in death on June 10, 2012.

She was employed in the health care industry throughout her working career. Cindy loved spending time with her family and friends, had a special love for dogs, cats and all animals and spent a lifetime putting others' needs ahead of her own.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virg; a brother, Gary McLaughlin; a sister, Sandy Lohmann, and her beloved dogs, Misty and Brydee.

Cindy is survived by a half-brother, Craig Backen of Los Angeles, California; a half-sister, Linda Oppeneer of Texas; a sister-in-law, Marcia McLaughlin of Chaska, Minnesota; 3 nephews: Todd (Nat) McLaughlin, Jeff McLaughlin and Tony (Michelle) Geist; 3 nieces: Jen (Brian) King, Patty (Kenn) Wandschneider and Aimee Clifford and 15 great-nieces and nephews.

Cindy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
