Dorothy J. Sulentic Sullivan, 87, died September 27, 2012 at Lakeview Landing.

She was born March 11, 1925, in Decatur, IL, daughter of Joseph P. and Anna Maria Himmes Baumann. She married Robert Nicholas Sulentic on January 29, 1947 in Waterloo. He died January 20, 1970.

She married Thomas Martin Sullivan on March 13, 1978 in Waterloo. He died February 24, 2002.

Dorothy graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1941. She was an organist for 65 years, playing at St. Edward’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a member of Knights & Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, past president of the Waterloo Junior Service League and past president of the Community Concert Association.

She is survived by four daughters, Suzanne Bembridge of Waterloo, Rozanne Christy of Gilbertville, Jeanne (Miso Vejan) of Split Croatia, Margaret (Anthony) Dowell, PHD of New Orleans, La.; three sons, Nicholas J. of New Orleans, La., Robert (Mary) Sulentic, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa and David R. of Bradenton, Fla; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Dr. James G. (Marlene) Baumann of Phoenix, Ariz.; two step-sons, Thomas Sullivan Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla and Dennis Sullivan of Gibsonia, Pa; four step-daughters, Maureen Sullivan of St. John’s, Fla., Judith Lippiatt of Salem, Ohio, Patricia Lambert of Ironton, Ohio and Anne Martin of Jacksonville, Fla.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Wynn Stuart Binger.
